About Kammala
Kammala is a low-key village beach on the west coast between Negombo and Marawila, roughly 10 km north of Negombo town. The shoreline is a broad, uncrowded stretch of sand backed by coconut palms, quiet for most of the day apart from local life and the handful of beachfront guesthouses that make up the village's small tourist footprint. The beach sits close to the mouth of a lagoon, in the canal-and-wetland country that characterises this stretch of coast, and turtle nesting has been reported on this shoreline.
